Us government keeps active the huge loan program directed to automotive industry that started in 2008 and has been criticized many times by right-wing observers and politicians (see Sarah Palin’s famous dismissal of Tesla Motor’s future). Only $ 8 billion of the total $ 25 billion fund have been used so far: $5.9 billion went to Ford, $ 1.6 billion went to Nissan, while Tesla took only $ 495 million. This could be a big win for those campaigning for further state intervention in the economy.
