Here’s how copyright holders try to stop online piracy

They ask Google to remove links to pirated content from search results. The increase in removals compared to 2015 is staggering, but unlikely to be effective. Unauthorized filesharing is becoming more and more independent of the service that Google provides.

The fast and continuous development of torrent-based sharing systems make the task of enforcing copyright each day more difficult – and this is good for consumers and artists as well.
